Nowhere, Middlestage.

In this video I am in a Stars 4/180 tournament in the middle stages. Quite often when playing TAG style, you will be in the position I am here - and that is nowhere! More specifically Nowhere, Middlestage. Most players learning the game in the low limits find this stage, the toughest of all. This is mostly because every hand you play in this State is game critical, so there is certainly and extra burden of stress about making the right decision.

Nowhere, Middlestage is the probably the part of your game that will require more “intuition” and “boldness” than any other. Let’s face it, if you are orange mzone holding 75s in the big blind and shove it all, well that takes balls. However if you get called by the bb perhaps holding QQ, then your boldness will likely turn into an embarrassing moment where you will be rather anxious just to log off when the river turns over.

Such a move may be contrarian and not widely accepted by your opponents. However, be rest assured that if you are actually ridiculed for such a move, then the play doing the ridiculing is (19 times out of 20), losing his shirt in online poker.

So get over it, and welcome your next trip into Nowhere, Middlestage, where you will, at least eventually, get a good feel for making the right moves, at the right times, against the right opponents. In this video, such an opportunity presents itself because the time was right for me given the circumstances. I was yellow, on my way to orange, I was up against a player with high AF, and the pot odds were simply too lucrative.

Watch this video and see if you agree or not.
