Double barreling in poker refers to making a second betting attempt to win a pot when you have, well, nothing - or close to it. It is definitely a higher risk play so choosing who you double barrel against is one of the main factors in making such a play profitable long term for you. Generally high risk plays, like double barreling also mean to an extent that you are bluffing to win the pot, and you really don’t want the hand to go showdown.

You may have heard about a tactic in poker called the “stop and go” play but were unsure of what it was and when to use it. The stop and go play is a tournament tactic you can employ as a short stack, typically orange or red mzoned. You actually start this play by calling a raise out of position, which may actually seem like an instant disadvantage, but the play culminates with you making a PUSH on the flop, which hopefully presents a difficult heads-up odds decision.
