Hey Marty - Just watched the video, found it quite useful. As far as feedback, I especially liked the way you emphasize all of the ingredients that go into each of your decisions, like mentioning people's indicator stats and how with so many people committing chips to a pot you can probably assume aces are mostly gone and that your Kings are way ahead. This is an aspect of my game that needs a lot of work, because although I am not playing like the donkeys in some of your videos, I certainly need to take more time for each decision and re-evaluate my hole card strength based on the action at the table and player's tendencies/win records. Heya Marty, Love your site...it has been a valuable addition to my education and my online poker winnings! Thanks again, Dennis aka Prof Shadow Hey Marty, EVERYONE WHO PLAYS POKER SHOULD WATCH THIS BEFORE THEY START, >:o :-) Ian W. aka gandalf55 hi marty. Just watched your bankroll management video, i found it very informative and like your others gets you thinking about all aspects of the game. I Hate to admit it but my management was appaling and your fish graft was describing me :( . But to make it even worse the more i lost in the higher games the looser my play became making, braindead calls, all patience and disipline was gone. Now after the video i have taken stock of the situation and determined to advance (slowly). I look forward to the rest . Congratulations on a great job. All you can do is get your chips in when you feel you have the best of it, and the suck outs and badbeats in the longterm dont effect my decisions. mark b Hi Marty, Many thanks for this email, ive not watched the link yet but there is another reason for me replying. I was actually very suprised by the email as i was under the impression (wrongly) that the links were just farmed out to the masses who had subscribed every couple of days. Like most subscription based websites for any product, that is why ive never bothered replying to your links or joining the forum..... Until now! I feel its a great touch the way the emails are personalised and shows a genuine interest in the person that has subscribed. Top Man.In respect to the videos that ive watched, I cant commend you highly enough in the way that they have improved my game so far. Ive been in and out of poker online for a couple of years, drawn to the Pokerstars website by the belief that i too could make money playing... What a disaster that turned out to be, so i went away read a couple of books and came back to give it another crack. Once again i held my own for a while, but i was never really doing any better, i'd have the odd hot streak, but then find i was out of my depth and reloading again. I came to the conclusion that Pokerstars was rigged blah blah blah, but in truth it was just that i was not the player i thought i was.Ive been playing on Titan Poker of the IPOKER network for about twelve months and had the odd win in $600 being the highest. Yet i was always finding i was inconsistent in tourny's, and especially on the sit n go's. Then I stumbled upon Pokercalculatorreport and thus Tournament Indicator.... Since then things have turned around.... The Mzone strategy has turned my game around and I am now winning regulary on Sit n Go buy ins.. Dont get me wrong i am no where near the finished article, but i just wanted to say that even though ive not finished the video links, my game has improved so much that God knows what will happen when i do! Im now beginning to claw back the $1000 that i have lost over time, and i now enjoy logging into Sharkscope to see im no longer -33% ROI and -$650!Sorry for babbling on, but i wanted to express how pleased i am at the way my game has improved and to awknowledge the fact that you have God like status within my poker world. Im surrounded by sticky notes from the videos, that the girlfriend insists on removing, which if she does again she can go back to her mothers!Anyway Marty, many thanks again for giving mere mortals like myself a chance to shine on the tables. If you are ever in the UK then drop me an email and i will be more than happy to spend $3 of my winings on a pint of your choice! ; ) All the best Bud, Johnny.
Your video series have completewly transformed my play and my confidence. I have even started to see players mistakes, such as the fish who wont lay down AK and the like. My favourites are the all in with AQ on a full table - dont you just love them! :). Anyway, time to brag you up for your knowledge Marty! Thank you so much again marty. MALcolm G. Hi, I really love your videos and they have taught me a lot! You are really opening my mind to new areas of the game. I really liked the sit and go series and im loving this one as well. The hard thing is to apply all this information to my game because there are lots of things to take into consideration while playing. Im definetly improving and have actually won a couple of 5$ multitable tournaments with about 80 players. Thanks a lot for your videos! Henri H Hey Marty jus wanted to thank you for the excellent videos so far, That bankroll management one really made me more aware of how I should enter sit n gos in relation to my bankroll, and the focus on just making the money also made more sense too. Hi marty, just like to say this mzone video series is just brilliant. Similar to the pokersitandgoreport.com series, just awesome. I'm am learning so much from these videos, i feel i get better from each video! I watched the sit & go video series, and i'm not slowly building my bank roll up toward playing multi table tourneys, just like you said. All of your videos in the mzone series are very informative, concise and commentated greatly! Please keep 'em coming!! Simon C Hello, first of all let me say your videos have helped me a lot on improving Hi Marty. I am thoroughly enjoying your MZone videos (as well as your S&G series). I have heavily studied Dan Harrington’s books and was applying M to my tournament play before I came across your site. However, both the Tournament Indicator tool and your coaching have improved my play. I opened a new account under Full Tilt to use the tool and practiced with play money. I started with $1000 play money and built it up over $250,000 in about 2 weeks. My success with the play money tables can be attributed to Dan Harrington’s books, the TI tool, and your coaching videos. Thank you! I have now moved to $5 and $10 real money S&G’d. T Kennedy. Hi Marty, I appreciate the effort you have put into the Mzone strategy. I am enjoying your videos and am an amatuer poker player at low level tournaments. While my results haven't been outstanding I am progressing to the point where placing in the money is not out the question. A recent 15th in a 5$ low level buy in, with the chip lead and a horrible bad beat...put me in some money. Steve C. Marty - Thank you thank you, thank you! These videos are great!! I have always been a fairly patient player but your video series has helped me reinforce my patience. I just watched video 4 today. Alot of what you are saying are things that I knew but wasn’t sure if I was on the right track or not. The MZone is totally new to me though… I have downloaded the Tournament indicator and am working towards the free license. This software is very helpful for the Mzone factor and profiling… I love it. The one thing that you have helped me most with so far is bankroll management. When I seen the video on bankrolls you were describing me!! I wouldn’t place in a couple of tournaments so I would be an idiot and move up to a higher Buy-In thinking that I would win my money back quicker. It never failed that I would always have to go back to the reload button!!! You don’t know how much I appreciated this video…. I have just started trying to build my bankroll sticking with the lower limits. I will let you know how it goes. I am also a subscriber to your SitNGo videos. I have only received the first one so far and I know that they will be as good as the MZone videos. I have been playing SitNGos for a couple of years now and feel that I am a pretty good player in these tournaments, but I am sure that I will learn a few things from these videos as well. Thanks again Scott M. I am extremely pleased with your video session's! I have been using poker indicator for 1 to 2 year's and just recently found your tournament poker indicator through a friend of mine. When he told me about it and the two day free trial I couldn't wait to get home to check it out. After downloading the free trial I got in 3 small tourney's and finished other, other and other respectively! Wow! After my trial ended I bought it immediately. Thank you so very much for your creation! It has helped me greatly and I love the video's that go with it . They only make a great product that much better! Look forward to your next one. Thank you so much again. I will be looking for you on the tables. stu1222 Hi Marty! Thanks a lot for your excellent videos. They have helped me a lot, beleive me. Ralph H Hello, I just wanted to say I really really like these videos you do, they help me out a whole lot and have improved my game tremendously. Your doing a great job on all the videos and you explain everything so perfectly so anyone can understand. I just wanted to let you know that I think these videos are great and it would be awesome if you continue creating these types of videos. Thanks so much for the great videos and keep up the good work. Best regards Joe. Wow Marty thanks. I had really been looking foward to this series because my tournameant play wasn't too good and i wasn't cashing and making a profit. I just watched the 4 th video in the series and it was great. This series has been amazing so far, but i have a few questions. I am playing poker on a mac and alot of programs don't work on my mac. So i need to work out the Mzone formula untill i can find a way to get the program. Nico Ang. Bon un canadien , ça parle français? non? (lol) Great job, very very interesting. The video on the bankroll as complete my management. The section on the tournament (what and where) is very useful. I play online for six month, i see a lot of video iread books, and your video are very good for the little players like me. @+Bobilafouine Hi Marty, Thanks for all your great help, teaching and videos. Is it possible to send me link for last videos (8a and 8b I guess). I subscribe few days ago and I only received links for video 3. I am very intersting in watching ASAP the other videos without waiting the other Emails. Sorry for my impatience but I find your approach and strategy very interesting and would like to start and apply it this weekend. Thanks in advance. Best regards, Arnaud Hi Marty, I always look forward to your emails and your videos. I am sure everyone appreciates your hard work and dedication to your business. I am having some success but still find myself making stupid mistakes and making some bad calls when I KNOW I am beat. What causes a person to do this? I have a feeling a lot of people do this. Anyway, keep up the great work! Harry. Hello Marty, I really appreciate the videos and the first 8 have improved my game drastically. Thank you. I accidentally deleted video #9 from my mail. Would you be able to send me the link again? Thanks, Scott. Dear mr Smith, My name is Thomas V. I really enjoy watching your videos, and find them a good learning ground ( and this comes from a guy who already have a huge poker instructional database (videos, books). I am wondering if there is any chance to get some videos of the series in advance. I am professional web developer, and currently have a 2 week vacation, so for once this year I really have the time to focus on my game. Thanks in advance and kind regards, Thomas Vangelooven Dear Marty, This is great stuff. Keep going with all this great work. Considering that you're not charging for this stuff makes you very valuable fo rthe poker community. Even if in a way you scare the fishs ( by teaching them how to be Sharks :p) I still wish that you continue. Because since I started your video series, my play improved alot. So thanks alot and keep goign with all the good work! Phil Hi Marty; Just a quick note to say that i have enjoyed the valuable information on all the videos thus far and looking forward to the next and the next and the next,,,keep up the great work!!! ET Dear Marty, Well first of all many thanks for sending these videos. I am enjoying them very much as a relative beginner in the world of online poker. I like the relaxed style and clarity of language which you deploy. As a lawyer I am always interested in seeing how an expert explains his techniques to a non expert. The ability to convey technical knowledge to the uninitiated so that they understand it is a true sign of an expert. I also like the flow charts. I have not really made any money yet but I am not losing much money at all now and hope soon to start winning on a more regular basis.I look forward to receiving your further videos. Kind regards, J Gordon R Q.C., F.C.I.Arb. Hey Marty. Just wanted to thank you for the great videos you have been providing us with. A lot of your tips come in very handy and have helped my personal game greatly in recent Holdem tournaments. I hope you have some time to read through this as I am just typing away what comes to my mind. In case you don't have the time to read it through I'm going to say the important thing right at the beginning. Marty, First off, thanks for the videos. Much appreciated. Just from using the trial of Tournament Indicator for a few games has helped a ton as well. I was wondering if there was a way to get the videos quicker. Especially the next one on profiling, as that is a trouble spot for me. I really need to improve my assessments of other players. If there's a way to get the link sooner, I'd love it. If not, no worries. Thanks again for sharing your methods again. Orlando A. Hey Marty, I've watched the bankroll management video, and I appreciate the advice given. Early in my online poker days, I was one of the fish who don't use their bankroll wisely. The 50/250 rule is a good place to start, thanks! I've been keeping up on the mzone, sitandgo, and holdem indicator videos, and I appreciate the advice you've given. Keep up the good work! Jay C. Dear Marty, You are doing a wonderful job with this series. I would really like to thank you. I have learned alot from these videos. It has definitely improved my game. Thanks again. Fareed Dear Marty, I have never really responded to your e-mails but I though now was as good an opportunity as any. Having reviewed all of your previous video reports and using these in conjunction with various books I have seen my poker game improve immensely, I am rarely out of the money these days on single seater tourneys and frequently hit the money in MTT's usually low levels as I have only been playing for fun....fun he says at low level...my lord is that hard work the amount of muppets out there is amazing, but thanks to your tuition I am managing those reasonbly well...lol....mainly thanks to the websites you manage and the wealth of information you have provided and i look forward to the next set of videos and reports. Many thanks for your assistance and keep up the good work. J A Iddon Hi Marty, First of all I want to tell you how much I enjoy the video's and your strategies using holdem tournament indicator. I am a big fan and eager to learn. B Belanger. Hi Marty, I just wanted to drop you a note to let you know that your no limit hold'em poker video series is awesome! I've only been playing poker for about 6 - 8 months, but I feel like the advice you're providing me with for tournament poker has really advanced my knowledge of the game, and has helped me focus on what I should be trying to accomplish every time I play. I've recently opened a new account at Pacific Poker, so I've got Tournament Indicator running on it now. Once I've played the required 900 hands, I'll be using it on PokerStars and FullTilt as well. Thanks again Marty. Kevin W. Marty, Hi Marty, I really appreciate your videos - they give a lot of information and motivation to continue play poker despite the mediocre results I have. I started playing one month ago for play money and I've read the Harrington's books and decided that I can win easily money from poker. OK - it seems that easy ways bring to nowhere. But I'm ready to make efforts to improve my play and your videos are really helpful. Ion G. Hello Marty, I've been viewing your Mzone videos after trying out Tournament Indicator for the trial period. I'm a long time online player that has had some success over the years at various sites and plays predominantly heads-up tournaments at Pokerstars. I'm planning on going back to playing more Multi-tournaments soon and figured I'd look around for a tool that could help me (since I've been hearing about many)I've never used an online poker assist tool and I've been playing for many years now. Just figured it was time to try one out and this came highly suggested. I like how your videos are slow moving with enough time allowed for things to sink in. You come straight to the point about the topics that matter and your guide to early tournament play mimics my own. Your video on profiling is simple and effective. Anyone from an amateur looking for a start or a pro looking for refreshment on their game could gain from it. Not really much else I can say at this point till I see more, but I look forward to viewing the next videos in the series. See you at the tables maybe on Stars. Ryan "Gemini26" Dear Marty, You have asked for feedback on your strategy videos. Let me put it this way, after playing for two years and for the past few months starting playing poker so that I can turn pro. I have ordered about 18 books, 8 DVD sets and I look at your videos. Every time I do read something new from a book or a DVD and try it works well for a while, then after going through your videos, I see you say the same thing with better details and I start to follow you strategy. I like to read the books to get the basics, but always come back to your videos to confirm and understand the strategy. Thank for your videos, I only wish is that you give them all to me and no one else. PS: I'm also from Toronto (for the past 35 years), but currently working in Athens, Greece. I would like to meet with you when I'm back in TO. Regards, Mick. The videos are fantastic and increadibly instructive. I have recently graduated to $5.5 x 9 seat sit and goes at full tilt. Happily I am fairly consistently finishing in the money, however unhapily it is almost always 3rd. Anyway, the limited success is mostly attributed to tournament indicator and your series. I have gotten more out of them that the 6 or so poker book I have read. D Haskew. hi marty, just providing the feedback to your videos that you asked for. i've been playing online holdem for about 10 months now, and its become pretty obvious i need some help, trouble is when you go looking, your confronted with oceans upon oceans of bullshit, everyone's gonna help me retire. its laughable, they must be making thier money off young people, no one with any brains buys into that stuff. anyhoo, i digress. we're talking about your little operation, which i gotta say is a breath of fresh air. i find your honesty and hard work attitude actually gives me some confidence that if i can put the time and work in that i may just make a winning player of myself. which i really want to do, i get so much pleasure from playing the game, it can be so intense, i spent years playing online shooter games, and it was cool fun. but poker is another level alltogether, taking money off people!!! it doesnt get any more personal than that.!! and they get soooo pissed off, and so do i!! its bloody awesome, lol. Douglas F. Hi Marty: This video could not have come at a more perfect. I had just gotten knocked out of a 208 player tourny at sportsbook. There were 63 players left and I was in 24th position chipwise. And guess what? I didn't lay down that AJh but called the all in after the flop hit 4s 7d jc. Yep I'm a dummy. Other guy had Q's and I kicked myself for an hour before seeing this video. After watching it and calming down from my bonehead play I got in a 30 man tourny for $ 1. And I waited and I waited and I waited. Out of 124 hands I think I folded 90% of the hands til I got heads up with the winnner. I had a shot but lost with pkt 10 to AK ,,, yep,, A on the river.......but back on track,,, $ 7.50 for 2nd got me rethinking of the video so I wanted to send this to you. Thanks ever so much for the videos and introducing me to TI I'll be waiting for the next video thanks, vinylsidingman Barry Z. Dear Marty, first of all a Happy New Year to you and your team. Thanks for sending these great videos. I think you are doing a terrific job in educating the fish including myself. Your videos together with tournament/holdem indicator software have not only helped me to save/win some dollars recently but also to understand the fundamentals and avoiding a lot of those (costly) gut feeling decisions. I am happy to provide feedback and I am certainly have a few comments to points you raised - just give me a few weeks to go through all the material once more. Thanks and all the best, Peter Hello Marty, Thanks for the video series, I find them very interesting. These videos along with Tournament Indicator I think are making me play better poker. I was rather reckless and although I thought a decent player I could not figure out why I had to re-load regularly. Oh I would win for a few weeks or even months but it always came spiraling downward 5 times faster than I won it. I purchased Tournament Indicator directly and Love the stats and info at my disposal. I am confidant that I will become a winning player. Jerry P. Hey Marty. Thank you a lot. I enjoy your videos a lot. Im extremely glad that i found them. Its really the best pokerguide I've ever accounted because its so direct and straight forward. It has helped me getting a much more objective view of the game. Daniel R. The new software you're using for video production seems to deliver crisper images and clearer audio. Thanks also for sending that email with links to all the SnG videos. I re-reviewed the first six in the series last night and gleaned far more from them than the first time through. The combination of watching the videos, playing numerous SnG's and then coming back to the videos has really consolidated my learning. I'm still a fish in the great ocean, but I won't be paying poker tuition forever. You're a good educator. Thanks for taking pity on the fish. Regards, Rob T Dude, your videos are absolutely great Keep up the great work you are doing! Cheers Yiannos i think the videos are awesome, since the trial i have final tabled 3 in a row ,i have now relized my earlier mistakes in tournaments thanks to your videos. thanks and keep the videos coming. thanks, mavman Hi Marty - Thank you. You video's are great and Tournamentindicator is fantastic. First your SNG video's are directly responsible for me now having a 70% ROI for $5.00 SNG's. I have just stepped up to the $10.00 and ROI is 40% ( couple of bad beats :)). This weekend I finished 3rd in a $5.00 400 player tournament for a $230.00 payout, my first final table in eight month's. This was using TournamentIndicator, in particular the player profiling and Mzone indicators. Secondly, your advice on making the money first, is the best advice I have had from any site I have belonged too. Once again, thank you. PS I am looking forward to watching your SNG video pack. Tony Hartigan Support Engineer Dear Marty. Is with pleasure that i give u my fee back on your last video that u kindly send me. I find it, like all the videos I been seeing from your series, very helpful and great source of “food for thoughts” I can’t tell u how much more efficient your suggestions and playing philosophy are making me in my daily playing …..of course it will take me sometime to master that kind of discipline and fast thinking but I can tell u that already in any tournament. I done with my tournament indicator I been find myself in the early stages of the tournament been with in the parameters u showing in your last video…. So I can definitely saying that I made a good step forward and I’m waiting with sense of anticipation to learn and get anything I can from your wise way to play poker . Please forgive my English … I know my Grammatik and my spelling must be terrible. Thanks again and I looking forward to be bitten on the poker table from u some day ;) Regards Angelo Castronovo. Hi Marty......Wow.. i have just watched ur bankroll management video... and im sitting here thinking.... ohh boy.. this Guy just saved me from reloading and reloading. ... I usely enters a lots of 10 + fee tournaments.... I loose some I win some.... but with a 50$ starting bankroll and a 50$ reload quite often, I realize......you are so right. Hey Marty. I am a professional poker player from sydney australia. I signed up to your site to see if it was just another one of those float in sites to take advantage of the poker boom I have to say that your video's are GREAT. For the beggining player I would assume they help a lot. Always great fun to watch, and I will keep on watching. Cameron. Hi Marty! Your videos are really great and my game has already improved much. Another Great videos Marty. I have only been playing poker for about 6 months and have had some big wins thus far and some tough streaks of losing. I have learned a great amount from watching your videos and I appreciate you sharing your insight with us. A Kent. Thanks Marty. The video have been entertainting and informative. I passed your site on to my father who plays low limit sng's and hopefully he will be checkin it out. I am looking forward to your next series. I went to the casino and played Live tournament and did pretty darn well. You are an excellent teacher and I love the way your analysis goes on every video. I just wanted to take the time again and say Thank you for your excellence in teaching. You are the best!Your Student, Oliver. Hi Marty, Thanks for all the videos, they really improved my overall play and put me ahead of my opponents. I'm looking forward to those mzone videos already, keep up the good work! Tom T. Oke thanks Marty, I love your videos and explanations! Jelmer marty your videos are excellent enjoyed looking at half of them then my pc had a virus and i had to have it wiped clean and i lost all the data is there anyway i can get the vids back plz much obluiged mr pete p. Dear Marty, I have seen this video and found it very informative. Thanks very much indeed. In your email you mention that this is the first video, with more to come, I was wondering where I might find those or when you might be sending me those links. Kind regards, Winnie. Just a quick reply, I think the effort and work you have put into these videos is outstanding and they are an extremely valuable method of learning. I sincerely Thank You, Michael Hi Marty, Just a quick thanks for all these videos you've sent me. They've changed the way I play poker. My approach both mentally and aggressively has improved 10 fold thanks to you. I personally have not deposited any money into a poker site now since May of 2007. That's not to say I'm rolling in the money but I certainly do enjoy playing with other peoples money!!! Many Thanks, Raymond H. South Africa Hi Marty, Just some feedback. A lot of what you describe in your video series about MZone is already familiar to me through Dan Harrington's book "Harrington on Holdem." Which teaches you how to alter your tournament strategy when you reach various zones. Marty, I previously asked you for all of the Mzone videos at once, which you provided to me. I have to say, they are awesome. I can't wait to start trying to apply some of the things I've learned. Right now I am concentrating on sit-n-go's, so I was hoping you'd be willing to send all of those videos to me as well. I promise once again not to share them with anyone. Please let me know if that's ok. Thanks again. Derek Marty, Just wanted to let you know how much I'm enjoying your videos. I have been playing poker for about 6 months, mostly $2 9-player S&G's @ FTP. In the beginning I wanted to play lots of hands and as a result was on the rail very early. With a little of experience and the knowledge that I gained from your series of videos I'm now winning or placing in a very high percentage of the tournaments I enter. Thank you & keep up the great service you are providing. Doug here again, I was wondering if you have your past videos archived and available for review. I would really like to see some of the first ones that I have not seen, and even review some that I have already viewed. Douglas A. Hi Marty:I think this series is the most helpful thing I've ever done for my game. Plus you have a way of teaching that's very easy and fun to listen to. Thanks a lot for these videos. Bob W, San DiegoHi Marty, I am really enjoying the SNG videos. At first I was not really applying what I was learning, but after having WAY to many 8th place I realized I was not making the big lay downs earl in the tournament. I was also playing "problem hands." I re-watched a couple of videos and decided to apply what I have learned from them. I played 4 sng's tonight and placed in 3 (one first place and two third places). I have learned so much from the videos you have sent already. I just started playing real money 2 weeks ago. I got a raise at work and decided that I was going to put $50 down to have some fun. I especially like the bankroll discussion. I have been doing good so far. I have played a few MTT and Sit n Go's. I have been in the money in a few. I am up $160. I was up $210, but played some "questionable" hands against some very loose players. So, needless to say, I am still working on my profiling and listening to my instincts. I have been using the Tournament Indicator. I am still getting a feel for it. I still have confusion about the win odds vs. pot odds. I usually play a hand when my percentage of win odds in higher than the pot odds. I'm not sure if that is correct or not.Thank you for the great work. I truly believe that this knowledge is worth considerable money, yet you send them out for free. It has already made me $160 in two weeks. Can't beat that! Chris B.These videos are great Marty. I needed a little hand holding and to be able to study your video series was an inspiration. I also like how freely you have given out these tips and hope to learn lot's more. Hope to meet you someday and thank you personally. Thanks Robert G. Hey Marty, Thanks for the excellent videos! I've opened a new account at pacific poker ($100) with the tournament indicator and doubled my bankrole within the 900 hands, playing low stake MTT sit-n-go's (so i got the TI for free :-) ) I've also watched many video's on advanced strategies and one of the so called advanced strategies is to be totally unpredictable, those video's usually end with the "pro" busted out with something like 74 againt a "fish" with an overpair, which i find very entertaining. AJ N. I have to tell you I'm pretty impressed with both products so for and I think your sites and video series in top notch. You're providing excellent advice and guidance for all us poor poker players and I know my game will improve because of it. I think I'm very fortunate to have found you and your sites. Thank you so much! Peter R Hey Marty, I just wanted to leave you some feedback on these videos that you have been sending out and tell you how much i appreciate that these are free... I'm not going to say that you have completely re-built my tournament style; however, you have seriously fine tuned it... if i could just get past all the bad beats i would be just perfect. However, in poker, everyone gets them just as much as the next person. I use to get heavily frustrated with them, but now i sit back and laugh it off... I've sort of picked up the phrase "Well, that's poker..." I feel like i can 'position play' with the best of them and i love your technique of pre-flop raising even with marginal hands in the middle and late stages - but you definitely have to have your players profiled in order to get this down. I have picked atleast 3-4 tips EACH from every video that you have sent me and i have improved my game, in my opinion, atleast by 30-40%. I still have faults in my game though... and one of the hardest things for me to get past is when i get up big within the first 15 hands or so ( Mainly because i will not play any of the first 15 hands unless i have AA AK KK AQ or QQ, and i am highly aggressive when it does happen, which = great results) and at first i would just sit back and wait for the other players to fall, but just like you said in (i think it was) your last video that if you ever get up big and just try to coast to the money before you know it players will already be above you with the blinds pretty tough as well.... However, i eventually started being the bully and raising moderate amounts - but it has gotten me into trouble numerous times and more times i don't finish in the money with this style than i do with waiting it out. a few times have been because of bad beats and that i can understand and live with knowing i made a great call and the player just sucked out on the river... however, i find myself time and time again being overly aggressive and getting trapped... is there any way to prevent this from happening or is there another approach for this situation that i may want to try? Thank you in advance for any advice you may have and i cannot thank you fully for the helpful information you have already supplied...Cory Marty, I love your videos. I've watched a lot of stuff, including videos from cardrunners (brian townsend and taylor caby) as well as the sit and go pro series, but i seemed to get the most out of your videos. I've gone from beating the bubble and making the money about 1 out 5 times and winning 1 out of 10, to making the money 4/5 times and winning 1/5 times. This has allowed me to start building a nice bankroll. My biggest strengths since watching your videos are honing in on reading my opponents, and better recognizing the stages of the tournement (and hence, knowing when to start loosening up a bit.) My biggest weakness now is heads up play. I play far too loose and need to develope a better strategy. I've found that the last 3 or 4 players in the tourney tend to be those with a fair amount of skill and I usually wind up playing a decent opponent heads up. I typically come into heads up play with a 3 or 4 to 1 chip lead, then lose a big hand and wind up loosing the whole thing. I'm going to continue practicing the single table SNGs for now, but when my bankroll allows, I look forward to moving into MTTs. I have to wonder, do you ever do personal coaching. I would love to send you my hand history and let you point out any holes in my game that you see. If interested, I would be willing to pay for your time. Please let me know. Thanks for the great videos. Michael W.
